Team Midland’s very own Tim Procter organised yet another very successful fly-in at Stainburn Heli Club, in North Yorkshire. They always host a fantastic fly-in, and this Spring season opener was no exception.

Team Midland were well represented with 6 of our pilots making the effort to attend and have a great time flying and of course, helping others out where we can.

The main day was Sunday, and while Saturday had several pilots there flying, after the mist had mostly lifted, Sunday saw a much larger than anticipated gathering of 45 pilots all enjoying the superb weather, and the fantastic food served up by the usual suspects Jeff and Shaun. The sun shone all day while lots of flying took place.

Logo’s were in good attendance, and accompanied by a few Align models, some Raves, and even a Diablo and a Goblin showed up. There were also a couple of TDRs which had great fun attempting to get some high speed passes recorded on Tims speed gun. Dave “NHP” Whitney brought along a GPS tracking device which, when attached to the model, allowed us to accurately measure the speed that model was flying, and we managed to reach a superb 135 mph at one point. Impressive stuff!
