For the 3D Masters 2012 in Venlo this year, we decided to take a new style of trade booth. One which not only had a handful of hot selling stock items available to take away, but also making use of some technology as well.
We built up three consoles where people could place orders on our live stock website, and take advantage of a special show discount. Not only that, but have the goods delivered free as well. We thought this was a cool idea as it helps people not worry about carrying stock around with them at the show, or worrying about the security of their purchase locked in their car. This way, the people could order anything they wanted at a bargain price, and have it safely and securely delivered to their homes.
It seems a lot of people liked this idea as we were very busy the whole weekend!
We also had the infamous Midlands coffee machine on hand to dish out coffee (and Tea and Hot Chocolate), which also went down very well. We served a heck of a lot of drinks over the weekend!
The coffee machine was sat on an amazing bar, built to a high spec by the awesome Jason Platts. There were even LEDs on it so it would look totally cool for the Saturday night flying event. It was awesome!
We had a great crew of staff on hand to help people with their questions. As well as Jason, we had Mike Eddington, Pete Ayriss, Mat Watkin, Myself, Trevor and the multi-talented and multi-lingual Dennis Franckx. Dennis got renamed Bill, but he took that on the chin and soldiered on regardless.
We donated a lovely Logo 500 SE to the 3D Masters raffle, and the winner very kindly came by our stand to have his photo taken with us – top fella!
One of the highlights of the whole weekend was the Ninja Challenge. This involved getting all the top 3D Masters pilots to fly a cheap infra-red Twister Ninja model off the top of one of the computer stands and land it on the underside of my Logo 500SE blade. My Logo was hanging upside down from the roof of our booth, and this proved to be a big challenge for lots of awesome pilots. There will be a video of some of the highlights of the Ninja Challenge, but let me tell you it was a laugh a minute.
We had great fun over the entire weekend, with many of us losing our voices to some degree due to the amount of shouting and cheering we did. We love to support pilots!!
