What do we do?
Skids n skills offer a complete range of services for the radio controlled model heli flyer. We cater for the beginner to the hobby by offering a setup service and flying lessons structured solely for the beginner. This includes showing the pupil how to set up his own model for basic flying through to basic flying lessons, structured so that the pupil progresses at a steady rate without too much confusion in the early stages of learning to fly.

The flying school uses the Robbe Ornith helicopter which has proven to be a reliable and stable machine for the pupil to learn on. To give the pupil more confidence a buddy box system is used - we feel that the pupil will progress at a faster rate with this system. We can also give beginners flying tuition on their own machines where if possible a buddy box system will be used.

Your Instructor - Noel Cross
Your instructor is an ex British and Scottish national F3C (model helicopter aerobatics) champion, with 28 years experience of flying model helicopters. We offer various training courses from learning to hover all the way to circuit work and aerobatics up to an F3C standard .

We can also cater for the pilot who wishes to achieve his bmfa 'A' or 'B' certificate So if you feel you are ready for your first loop or roll, or you want to learn advanced hovering (nose in, pirouettes, etc.) we can cater for all this either on your own machine or on the school machines. Once again a buddy box system will be used as much as possible.

Try before you buy - If you are interested in model helicopters but not sure about buying we can offer a try before you buy service, this will normally involve an hour or two on the school helis with an explanation on how a helicopter flies, starting the engine and flying, again on our buddy box system.

Setup
We also offer a setup service where you can book the model in with us and have it set up to suit your abilities, if the customer wishes he can be present so that they can learn about setting the model up. We can cater for all levels of skill from the beginner to someone who wants to learn about aerobatic setups.

Repair
Coupled to these services we can offer a repair service - if you haven't any time to repair your heli then we can do it for you - this will include the repair of the model and a setup and test flight.

Build
We also offer a build service where the model will be built to your specification; this also includes setup and test flying.
