	SC-HK2221BEARINGKIT : SCORPION HK2221 BEARING KIT In order to keep your motor in top running condition, you need a good set of bearings. Occasionally, after a crash or landing in the dirt, the bearings can become damaged and need to be replaced. The Scorpion 22mm Motor Bearing Kit includes a pair of original equipment replacement bearings to fit all of the Scorpion 22mm S-Series motors, and the Scorpion HK-2208, HK-2213 and HK-2216 size motors. These bearings measure 7mm OD x 3mm ID x 3mm thick, and are an exact replacement for the stock bearings that come with the motors. Please note, The bearings are an exact fit into the motor housings, so they do fit snugly. When removing the old bearings, you may need to gently tap them out. However, when installing the new bearings, do not tap them in with anything, as this can dent the ball races and ruin the bearings. When installing ball bearings they need to be pressed in by the outer part of the race. Never apply pressure to the inner race, as this can damage the bearing and lead to premature failure. The shaft for the HK-3026 series motors measures 5mm in diameter, and is 74mm in long. The shaft kit will also fit other brushless motors that require a 5mm shaft of this length. This shaft kit will work with the newer version HK-3026 motors that have the C-clip retainer, and it will also work with the older style motors that had the retaining collar with set screws. The shafts can be cut shorter with a Dremel tool and a cut-off wheel if necessary to fit other motors. Note: The shafts in the Scorpion motors are a slight press fit into the aluminum front housing. The shafts will not just slide out when the set screws are removed. They need to be pressed out in a bearing press, or in a drill press, with the front houshing of the motor supported in a block of wood to prevent warping the front housing. Today's brushless motors, especially the helicopter motors, can be pretty hard on the bearings. In an average flight, the motor in a 450 size helicopter spins around almost a quarter million times! Without proper lubrication, the balls in the bearings can wear out quickly, leading to premature failure. At these speeds, the oil can get thrown out of the bearings in as little as 10-15 flights. Once the bearings loose their lubrication, they can heat up and wear out very quickly. A small drop placed on each bearing about once every 10-15 flights is enough to maintain proper lubrication to insure the longest possible life for your motor bearings.
